Coming back indirect via Paris
Our planned budget trip of 9 nights next April is developing into a slightly longer trip to include an extra 3 nights staying near the Keys.
I can find a good deal with a returning flight from Miami via Paris. We've always done direct, but I'm tempted as A we plan to return on a Thursday and aren't due in work until Monday and B the flights are all with Virgin. Any thoughts on this please.

We flew back with Air France via Paris and it was fine. We had about 4 hours in CDG which was long and a bit boring but not a disaster. In hindsight, I'd have booked a lounge.

Prices are showing as Ł368 through Kayak for ecomony light. I guess we could just add on a case or two afterwards.

We are heading out with hand luggage. It looks like $160 to bring a case back which is a lot but a lot less than upgrading

If the price is good I would do it, if worst comes to the worst and you get stuck in Paris for any reason its not far to make your way home! and plenty of ways to get home from there.

If you can get into the Air France lounge they are very good, free champage, good food, Clarins facials - need I say more

My bold above. You are probably aware, but just in case, although you may be booking with Virgin, the flights Miami-Paris-UK will not be operated by Virgin, most likely by Air France (possibly Delta from Miami to Paris, but more likely AF for both flights).

I travelled from Houston via CDG and everybody warned me about CDG. I thought it was great and very easy to navigate through. Both flights were with Air France
