Manchester & Airport
We are flying Manchester to Vegas in September. As we are from north east Scotland we’ve booked a flight down the day before and an overnight stay at the Radisson.
Flybe have kindly changed our flight from a departure at 16.30 to a departure at 10.30 . What would you suggest we do to pass the time? Is there anything close to the airport? Really don’t fancy staying in the hotel all day and night... Our flight is at 9am Sunday - would fast track security be advisable? It’s Thomas Cook so Terminal 1 I think. |

The obvious choice is to get the train into Mcr. Shopping, museums, cinemas, attractions etc. The Science museum is popular with children.
Or you could get a taxi to Stockport. Usual high street shops, nice cinema, interesting air raid shelter museum. Depends what you like doing really & ages of any children travelling? |

I would nip on the train into central Manchester - the world is your oyster there. Loads to see and do and some great places to eat.

You could catch the tram from the airport into Manchester City centre, it’s really easy to do. Not much around the airport without a car unfortunately. The closest town would probably be Wilmslow which is quite nice for a look around and a bite to eat.
Or you could go to the Trafford Centre where there is tons to do... shops, restaurants, bars, cinema etc. I think there is a bus that runs there from the airport, I am sure there will be someone on here that knows for sure. Hope this helps. |

The train is quicker than the tram into Manchester (around 20 minutes) and lots to see and do there.

Thanks everyone!
Looks like the train into Manchester it is - an extra day of holiday . It’s just the two of us so no kids to consider. My only issue is that we now need to be organised on Friday night for an early departure in the Saturday. Hey ho, first world problems. |

Walk through the Radisson walkway and straight into the train station- can either get train (20 mins) or tram (50 mins). We did both in May as trains were down on the way out, train is quicker and drops you at the station, tram drops you bang in the City Centre but it takes longer. Food choices are amazing in Manchester centre, also lots of great bars, shopping at the Arndale, Science Museum, Football Museum. It is a really great city, we often go over for food and drink
