Not a daft question at all. I scratched my head after reading the post and thought my memory was failing as most of the long haul flights I’ve been on have been 3-4-3.

Had a good laugh at myself too, thinking it would be like a cinema row 😂👍🏻
Hasn’t it always been 3-4-3? So what’s changed? I’ve been on Virgin and BA with this configuration for years?

nope LGW- MCO has been the 3-3-3 config.
They have NOT increased the number of overhead storage bins, so have an extra 52 passengers competing for the existing space. Edited at 12:17 PM. |

We did the AA revised config last year and I was dreading it.
Actually it wasn't that bad. In As the rear of the seats is moulded so although the seat in front might be closer it strangely felt quite good on legroom. I am however prone to overspill so deliberately booked a centre aisle seat so I could lift the seat arm. Taller DS found the headroom on the window seats slightly more restrictive on the way back rather than centre seats on way out. On the plus side the upgraded IFE was stupendous. Would be interesting if the same views hold true for refined BA flights. Edited at 12:35 PM. |

Seat densification, I think they call it. Ultimately means cheaper tickets, but extra bods will result in restricted overhead storage, slower disembarkation, tighter space.
I am flying the route next Monday so will get to experience it firsthand |

I flew 777 10 in a row with Air Canada in 2015 I was dreading it as I had not flown economy since 1997 Ben to the point where I nearly paid £2k+ on the day to go in Business one way on a 7 hour flight ! I found it fine i was not uncomftable though I had DD next to me if 8 had another adult my shoulders would have touched.
