First Time DIY

Weve been to WDW 5 times but always booked a package - thinking of going DIY in Sept 2019. WDW direct is quoting £3857.00 for 2 weeks at POFQ - so going by last years package the flights cost £2357.00 (this was for 3 adults - so each flight must have cost about £785.00) Do u think it would be cheaper to wait till nearer the time to book the flights and would it work out cheaper than a package deal.

September is off peak, so I'd be planning for £500pp or less at that time of year. £785pp us way too high IMO

Sept generally cheapest for flights. Even direct from Manchester should be less than £500.

My limit would be £450 with Virgin, including a bag, for September.

Thanks for all your replies - I think we will have a go at DIY - seems like we may save some money.

Always wait until nearer the time to book flights. Paid just over £500 with virgin with luggage in April this year for September. Probably could have got cheaper as they change daily but we were happy with that price and then stopped looking. Midweek is often cheaper.

Yes flights will be cheaper for sure, we have only been once and did it DIY. The price of package holidays is scary for a family of 6.

We have done 25days odd flight time (so we are there as long as possible) with norweigen £800 rtn for the 2 off us.
Our 5 bed villa was less than £1500 at town centre reserve davenport, backing onto the nature reserve.
Our car hire through Andy was£650 For a standard suv.

We had enough saved in the kitty for a holiday inside the holiday to the keys for a longweekend, wohoo. Cant wait and will diy it again, but this time itll be a roadtrip through the states.
