Third Time's A Charm - Day Three - Aquatica - 11/09/09

We woke up at 6.30 today, much more respectable! I lazed in bed until 7am whilst mum sorted out a few things which she needed to online. We showered, had breakfast and had a H-O-T-T HOT waiter called CJ… he was very good looking and I quite frankly think that he single handily made that breakfast the best breakfast of the two weeks, possibly ever. We headed back to the room to get ready for Aquatica as it didn’t open until 10.

We arrived a little after ten as mum went the wrong way because our sat nav took forever to find any satellites. We checked in, and went to our cabana

Then we got changed whilst the cabana attendant got our drinks; 4 Sierra Mist, 4 Pepsi and 8 bottles of water. We then spend 2 hours on ROA’s rapids and Loggerhead lane – most of it on ROA’s which was rather fun!

We then had lunch, we both had cheese steak sandwiches with fries and picked up a couple slices of cake to take back to the cabana for later; mum picked up carrot cake and I picked up chocolate cake. We had a rest, well, mum had a sleep and I caught up on the trip report.

We went to Cutback Cove and went into the wave pool for a bit and then back the cabana for drinks and cake – as we got back there was a clap of thunder, but it didn’t turn into anything… it was 32°C/89°F! We packed up and left Aquatica at 3ish to go back to the hotel to shower and get dressed.

We had a dinner reservation at Texas De Brazil on iDrive; incase you’re wondering how it works – you get seated and order drinks and get told where the salad bar is, which you can go up to throughout the meal. On each table setting, you have a double sided disk which is green on one side, aka GIVE ME MEAT, and red on the other side aka no more meat for me, I have meat sweats. We both ate far far far too much but anyhoo – we used the 50% off voucher which we got for mums birthday after signing up online.

After turning down dessert; we headed back down to the hotel as we were both tired – we sorted out the room and decided what to do at DHS whilst watching J.O.N.A.S in bed.

High: Texas De Brazil – I have issues with dairy products which I told the waitress who spoke to the chef and she talked me through what was ok for me to eat and the chef made me my own potato dish as everything else had loads of cream!
Low: Aquatica - with all of the hype surrounding the place I had expected it to be something amazing, but I thought that other than the fish it lacked any kind of theme and compared to the Disney water parks I could have done a better job in the bath of the hotel room!

Hi

ZeeBee's Mum here - it wasn't too busy the day we went so I would say not at that time of year. At busier times of year I would say it would be worth it.
