My dh likes Star Wars as does dd but he doesn't want to go near Hollywood Studios when this opens and we're currently thinking we'll probably skip Disney next year and do New York then Universal with maybe one day or a special event at Disney. It's just going to be so busy. Toystoryland at Xmas was bad enough and we only made the most of that by paying for after hours.

We’re leaving on the 20th and if we miss it by a few days we’ll be gutted. No matter how busy it is, I’d love to even just see it.

DFB have released some details about GE but I have to say that when they described Rise of the Resistance, I'm like seriously! 4 separate bits of it & tbh an "escape room", another bit like Mission Space... Sorry I won't be rushing to that

I went 13th to 27th September last year and it was great, a lot quieter than I'd been led to believe on here it would be. I cancelled a lot of fast passes because I didn't need them. It was a solo trip and I got chatting to a lot of people including some regular visitors who said how quiet it was. I'm going 16th to 26th September this year

It’ll be incredible Shooby, I am often a Disney critic but this will be the greatest ride and tech ever produced in a theme park. And I am no Star Wars nut.

I suspect Star Wars has a much bigger following - purely based on the number of years it’s been around - it has had both adults and children loving it since the 1970s. Harry Potter has generated the same type of fans but by comparison for a much shorter period of time. And with the Star Wars franchise continuing to make new films, it’s constantly bringing new young fans to discover it.

And this comes from someone who has zero interest in Star Wars (I’m proud to say I’ve never watched a single film all the way through!) and I’m a big HP fan!

I am aware of the timings . Anyway googling around and it is definitely not conclusive which is the bigger franchise, good arguments for both.

I would love a ride that is both immersive and lasts a decent amount of time.
They have hinted they may introduce the maxpass as at Disneyland and other Disney parks . I’ve read 80% will have some form of charge the rest free but allocation will also be included with the sw hotel so the premium price can be charged.
If people are prepared to pay it ( which they will as they are hard core fans) then Disney will charge .
