There are two bus services - The Deuce (the double decker) that stops at most properties on The Strip. Which is great because you get dropped outside, but is slow because it stops everywhere. The Downtown Express (DX) service stops at fewer points. It means you may walk further to get to where you want to go, but it's much quicker. The DX stops either side os The Luxor (Excalibur and Mandalay Bay) whilst the Deuce stops at The Luxor too.

Just some info regarding The Signature rooms which some may find useful to refer to :
All odd number rooms have strip views. Of those the one bedrooom suites (those ending with 1 and 21) have balconies. Junior suites which have balconies are those ending with 5, 7, 15, 17. 29th floor and above, 9 and 11 also have balconies. Imho, 5 and 7 have the best views. Read more: city-data/forum/las-v...#ixzz2WwcjmrsY Got that info from the above website, which can be very useful for all American travel.

Hi
I am only starting the planning and saving process now but I want to surprise hubby for his 40th birthday. I am looking for recommendations for a hotel. We stayed in the Mirage for our honeymoon and loved it nut that was 12 yrs ago! Want to treat him so was wondering what is best one to stay in ? He is a gambler at heart so will love to spend time in the casino but I like my luxury so would love a nice room! Any recommendations would be gratefully recieved! Great thread!

What's your budget?
Would you prefer a classic type Vegas hotel or one of the new ones? Do you have a preference for Strip location?

Hi I thought I'd sent you a pm Ciano, explaining all the reasons I think you should choose The Venetian/The Palazzo, but i don't see it in my sent box? Weird.
I'll send another - but the above would be my recommendation.

Sorry for not replying before - I had a good excuse, I was in Vegas
I would totally agree with the Venetian or Palazzo. We spent five very happy nights here last month!
