Difficult question. We find the chains very good, although branch specific sometimes in quality, with large variations, including the likes of Longhorn and Outback which I’ve probably eaten in over 15 States. Generally though the chains are pretty good.
Longhorn- I’ve had some of the best steaks I’ve ever had at the newer one on 192 and in Fort Myers, but some decidedly disappointing ones in Pennsylvania and other states. Millers- I thought it was poor, having been to the Naples one, but the new one at Seminole changed my mind. Great salad. Outback- Again some poor, some fantastic. Carrabbas- Very inconsistent, the one at Cape Coral was great. Applebee’s- the one at Hershey was the best meal I had all trip for the money- unbelievable but true . Others, not so much. Chilis- used to be a favourite until they destroyed the food with infrared auto cooking lines. Haven’t been back since. Bonefish- never had a bad meal here, but some better than others. Naples one can be v good. Macaroni Grill- only ever been once, and it was a Northern State a few years back (can’t remember which one), the Chicken Parm was best I ever had. Bahama Breeze- consistently pretty good. Went to the one at Grand National summer and it was better then than at Christmas (was busier second time). You get the idea. There’s so much competition these chains, many of which are franchises, wouldn’t survive if they were consistently poor.
