Hubs had wrist replacement (metal clip) Aug 2016, he's never set off the metal detector at the airports we've since transited; Man, Ncl, Dublin, LHR, MCO, Fort Myers, Atlanta.

Another little security tip if I may
It's very inconsistent these days but if you're asked to remove things like watches, jewellery, wallets, purses etc from your person put them inside the cabin case to go through the scanner rather loose on view in the tray. A visible £5,000 Rolex might just be too tempting for an opportunist. People on here have seen it happen. Mick

Walked through scanner at MCO last year without setting it off but was still pulled aside and I asked what the issue was.Security were scratching there heads and couldnt understand how I hadnt set it off with a prosthetic leg.I had to explain and show them pics on my phone that I didnt have a prosthetic leg but had a titanium rod through my heel into my shin bone due to ankle fusion surgery which makes me walk like I have a prosthetic leg

Gadgey, we put all in one backpack afore going thro security... testicles, spectacles, wallet and watch... bumbag containing coins, cc et al, hubs goes thro first and is waiting to retrieve.
Head to a table, hubs puts pp's/boarding cards in his bumbag and off we trot, makes for a far easier/quicker time in security.

I have a hip replacement , its totally random whether I bleep or not implants are mostly titanium which is non magnetic so don't generally cause an issue . On the occasions I have bleeped I asked if it was the hip was told no .
