I’m loving your report. I can’t believe Captain Cathy and Pup Pup are still going! As a family we’ve spent many beautiful holidays on Anna Maria Island and were only just looking at our Captain Cathy pictures from 2005 this weekend gone (wondering if it’s the same Pup Pup). So sorry about the bites this always happens to me.I have a little clicker that you place over the bite and click a few times, it gives mini shocks but stops the itch zap it is the name. The red mark will still be there but the itch goes. Not read through so unsure if you’ve already tried. Am loving reading your reports first thing at work thanks so much fo sharing.

Oh Helen no wonder you were a bit grumpy, those bites look so sore. Hope something you’ve bought helps.
Other than that sounds like a nice relaxing day. |

Do you have any anti histamines? Sometimes it can be an allergic reaction making them feel worse? Worth trying at night to help you sleep anyway.
So sorry the bites are making you feel miserable. Hope you have no more now.

From Dawn til Dusk another lovely relaxing day for everyone, I feel your pain with those bites. They do look really irritating and sore, not sure if it does help but I found using the repellent spray seemed to keep the mozzies at bay. Hope the creams have enabled you to sleep tonight. It's such a stunning place good to see you are all thoroughly enjoying it. Thanks for sharing

Another lovely sunrise and a nice relaxing day, your bites look nasty hope something of the haul you bought works to stop more bites and clear up the ones you have.
Nice sunset too. Joan

Oh Helen, those bites look very uncomfortable - poor you. You've every right to be grumpy but glad that the lone trip to the beach helped. Must admit, it looks gorgeous. Showed it to DH and even though he doesn't like a lie about the beach/pool holiday, he is very tempted by AMI. Maybe next time...
Hope you get out on your boat trip, sounds fun. We are hoping to do Little Toot or Seascreamer when we are in Clearwater, just haven't decided which yet. Keep slarrying on the camomile etc and hopefully the little bitters will leave you in peace!

Only thing I can add to the mix is tea tree oil, it seems to keep the little biting b******s off me. I only seem to get bitten when I'm on the sand.

It looks so idyllic, especially that sunset! Poor you with those bites! No wonder you're grumpy. Best advice I can give for prevention is to stop wearing perfume, use lots of either aloe or coconut moisturiser, (they don't like the smell and find it hard to get a "purchase" on the skin apparently?!), use Off!, cover yourself up at dawn/dusk, crank up the aircon and use a fan, and spray the villa with mosquito killer. For relief from symptoms do what you're already doing, take piriton/antihistimene and ibrupofen if you can to reduce inflammation, and you could try a tip I used in Greece... slather greek live yoghurt on the bites before bed...really hope you have a better day with them..

I always use Cetirizin when in Florida.
Something like this: walgreens/store/c/wa...387557-product (I bring my from Germany, but I think these are the same) I take one every evening. They don't protect you from getting bitten, but the reaction to the bites is far less then without. The bites don't swell that much, don't get that red and- most important - they don't itch. |

Oh those bites look sore, hope they start to settle soon and no more appear. Gorgeous sounding day, that white sand looks just beautiful!
