Just a note of you had lost your hotel you could have claimed for that as well and the cost of the new hotel.

Getting Excited

Hi all,
Sorry to slightly hijack the thread but I've never heard of this. Is anyone eligible or did you need to use a certain type of credit card/specific bank ? Thanks.

I did an initial claim for the TC going bust and to reclaim the cost of the flights.
A week later I had booked my new flights (£100 more expensive) and a over night hotel (£220 - Gatwick) as I was originally going out from my local airport - Manchester. So I submitted these consequential loses under section 75. This left me out of pocket by £320. First they paid out for the flights and then about 45 days later they paid for my extra loses. Hope this helps. |

Yes, I did the same as dx4100. I claimed originally for cancelled flights, then a new claim for the difference between Thomas Cook flights and my re-booked Virgin ones. I was told by Tesco bank as long as the flights were like for like (no business class when I’d originally booked economy) and no guarantee of getting the money back. But I’m glad I did now. Give it a go! What’s the worse that could happen?
