Very Discount Code Not Working

So today, I was looking on Very to see the price of Iphone 11 as planning on getting one for an Xmas gift for DH. They are the same price as other main high street stores such as John Lewis, Argos etc. But they had an offer where of you put the code in you get to pay it over 6 months and you get £120 credited back to your account. I thought this was a good deal. However, the code wouldn’t work so I rang them up and they said that I’m exempt from Buy Now Pay Later. The customer service man said the same thing happened with another customer earlier in the day but he had no idea why. Why would that be? I have no outstanding debt with them and in the past have always paid on time plus a good credit score. It’s not the Buy Now Pay Later that I’m particularly bothered about but quite liked the idea of £120 back.🤔

Same thing happened to me last year with an iPad, I had a very account I seldom used, was told that was the issue, as I rarely used it and always paid off so I suppose I was unlikely to be profitable so ended up opening a new account in dh name, got the cashback added few weeks later and then just paid the balance off

This happened to me!
So frustrating but basically I think if you are the type of customer that pays up before any interest is added then you are not the type of customer they want! The deals are there to entice you to spend on credit/pay interest.
i had used a similar deal last Xmas a£50 back on a switch (opened my very account for this) but then paid in full after receiving the cash back .i hadn’t ordered anything else until I went to order the phones this year
.when I called up I was told that the buy now pay later option been removed from my account due my spending pattern.
So my husband opened an account and we used the codes .no doubt his buy now pay later option will be removed eventually as we won’t slip onto interest bearing credit with these either

Thanks the replies. That’s what my husband thought was the case. I was having a panic thinking there was somebody spending thousands without my knowledge! But I checked my report and it was all good so I knew it wasn’t because of bad credit. That is so naughty of them. That’s so unfair. 😩
