I LOVED the transcript from your chat with your parents, so funny! And so lovely for you to all have those memories to share.
How exciting that you’re back so soon. Looking forward to reading along again. |

I have loved reading your trip report thankyou for sharing with us all!
Your conversation with your parents made me laugh out loud! It sounds like they had an amazing time though and you gave them some amazing memories. I am such a ride wimp and I often sit out rollercoaster while others go on and it never feels like I'm waiting for them as such, especially at Disney as there is always so much to see and look at and a rest is always welcome so it may well have been the same for your parents. I would love to take our parents/family to WDW but I am such a planning control freak I know I would not relax and want everything to be perfect (I'm bad enough when it's just us!) plus we love an early start and many of our family dont! But your trip has convinced me to consider it again! Looking forward to following along with your 2020 trip!

Thank you so much for sharing your detailed, funny and informative trip report! The dialogue between you and your parents is funny and familiar (we took my parents to Disney in December 2017 it was fantastic and exhausting)
I’m looking forward to following along with your 2020 travels, especially with your extended stay! It sounds as though you have another fantastic trip planned. Michelle xx |

I hope you have a fantastic time with you mum and step dad. It was different planning for us as a group as opposed to just the four of us, but it was definitely worth it.
It was a fab trip. I'm glad you enjoyed reading it. The need for it all to be perfect was all me putting pressure on myself and certainly they weren't fussed about doing everything. I'm glad they had such a good time though. You're right that first trip does have a lot to answer for. I'm going to have to let myself off of my decree about doing new things we have to go to some old favourites too. You've had other priorities this year, but it will be a bit of a different summer for you all. If/when you do return to Florida I hope you write another trip report and share it with us. It sure did take a while to write, but it was a pleasure to do. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's a shame you weren't able to relax, but I'm glad it's not just me I think this summer will be more relaxing, it's much easier to get just us organised and out the door on time. They did appreciate all the hard work. I think it's hard to remember what the first time is like. You can't really understand the sheer vastness of the parks let alone what you could/should plan in advance of the holiday. I'm glad you enjoyed their highlights. I kind of thought maybe it's just me that would find it funny as I feared it would only be funny to people who were there. Hey there it's been lovely reliving it all for the trip report, sorting out the photos for their photo book and then talking about their memories of it all with them. You're welcome, it's fun for me to write and even better that I get to share it with people who enjoy it all. Of course you're absolutely right about them probably enjoying the times we went on rides and they got to sit on a bench. Actually there were a couple of times at HS where Dad sat and Mum popped into a shop. You know the ones near tower of terror. It felt like we were a long time and just forcing them to hang around waiting, but actually a little sit down and rest or the chance to mooch about was probably welcomed. We are all pretty good at getting up and out early too. I knew that my parents would be ok with that, but I did worry that my dad would be more fluid with the timekeeping as he's known for being late! I do fear an extended family trip though as you say not everyone enjoys a 6am alarm on holiday. I'm sure you'd all have fun in the long run though even if the sort of holiday you have isn't your normal WDW holiday. That's really kind, some people would say that I waffled on a lot, but I like your use of the word 'detailed' Thats definitely what it was! Yep, fantastic and exhausting are exactly what it was. Now I've written all of the 2019 report I can really start to get into the planning of this year's trip

I've absolutely loved reading this report over the past week or so, thank you so much for writing it. We're having quite a different trip to you, offsite, but you've given me loads of good planning ideas and ways to avoid queuing! I love your little planning cards as well, might steal that idea. I'm also very pleased to read you have another trip planned before ours so hopefully I might be able to pick up even more tips!
It sounds like you had a great time, and your mum is right your planning should be considered a highlight, it definitely would have been a very different trip without it. Your family sound very lovely. The transcript of the chat with your parents is great! Right, off to make a start on your older trip reports now. |

I'm glad you enjoyed this report too it was so special sharing everything with mum and dad. You are absolutely right I should have added that as a highlight! I loved that Dad wore his badge every day I'm cross I forgot about that. Do you think I could add it in retrospectively?
I'm glad you enjoyed it, it's also nice that it's given you some ideas for your own trip. I used the planning cards the year before, the trip report is called Its all about the mouse. They were more detailed that year, even though they are only credit card sized I could fit quite a lot on them and they slotted into my park bag really well. We don't like taking a lot of stuff to parks, as we have DDP we don't need to carry drinks or food so we just don't bother taking loads and only have a minimal amount so I didnt want to bring my planning folder, that is fairly weighty You're welcome, you know I love writing them and it's so nice that you along with many others keep coming back to read them.
