Hi y'all! Take I-4 East all the way from the Disney area to the coast - you will briefly join I-95 north - then take the first exit (Speedway Blvd) past the famous racetrack all the way to the beach - it's an easy drive of about an hour. Have fun - and HERE are some things you might want to do when you get there - there's even Google driving instructions to the visitor center. Hope that helps

Hi Animal
We’ve done this a few times and it’s a breeze! We head for Sun Splash Park, Daytona Beach (611 S Atlantic Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32118-4509). It’s a four acre park bordering the beach with an interactive water fountain, decorative walkways, a shaded children's playground, volleyball courts, picnic areas, outdoor showers, two beach access ramps, and loads of free parking (if you get there before say 11am). Of course you can also drive onto the beach and park there if you like. Either way it’s great to have toilets and snacking facilities close to hand. * From Orlando join 1-4 E * After about 70 miles (1hr) take Exit 129 on the left and merge onto FL-600 E / US-92 E/W International Speedway Boulevard towards Daytona Beach (About 15 mins) * The beach is about 6 miles past the Daytona Speedway (which is huge and you can't miss) but very easy to get to. Just keep going straight over all the traffic lights and big bridge over the Halifax River. Turn right along South Atlantic Avenue If you do decide to park on the beach it costs a little ($10 last time I think). This is for an all day pass to drive/park on the beach. You can leave and re-enter once. You get a little ticket to put in your window. Be aware it is a one- way drive so you have to drive out of the beach and re-enter if you want to pick a spot you passed. Drive with your headlights on and at least one front window completely open. There are loungers and umbrellas set out all along the beach which you can rent. Just sit on them and the van comes along and takes your payment. It is $40 for two loungers, a parasol and a table. Hope this is helpful! |
