Mobile Ddp ordering off kids menu?

My eldest will be 12 so adult on the ddp, he will try most things but if he’s having a day when he wants to order off the kids menu will they give him a bigger portion if I asked? I know Disney can be quite accommodating with thing like this.

They will serve him a kids meal and take a DDP point, but they wont do bigger kids meals. We have tried several times in the past. When paying and not using points, we ordered 2 kids meals (cheaper than one adult meal) and then it was a struggle to sometimes get the 2nd drink.
Of course someone will say they got bigger portions, but from our experience it never worked.

We did ask a really friendly cast member once. It seemed a very logical reason. Restaurants and kitchens are so busy and can make simple changes on meal orders, like no salad. As everything is entered into a computerised till which prints in the kitchen, they have no way to request a double portion, or a large kids meal (or to charge for it) and as the server has no interaction with the kitchen, there is no way to request this. In most of the larger resturants, the server takes the order and then collects the trays when ready from a station near the kitchen pass and cant speak to the kitchen directly.

The other reason given as well it stock against sales. Remember they are very strict on theft. So the till would say adult meal sold, but they are missing 2 portions of a kids meal. With them being so busy between stock checks, nobody would be able to put 2 and 2 together.

My 9yo son on adult credits ordered a kids meal at Storybook dining and they absolutely brought him a larger portion...and told us before that they would do that before we even asked.

We used the credit because it was an expensive oop kids meal to pay for and we had plenty left.

They also brought adult size portions of kids meals at The Wave and Homecomin too

I very often ask for an adult sized portion off the kids menu and have never had any issues. They tend to be double the size of what my children get.

Well, since they introduced the actual implementation of the separation of child and adult credits, it seems people can no longer order something from the child's menu and use an adult credit for it.

Multiple reports coming in from people who have recently returned. They have better luck in the onsite hotels, where the CM's seem able (and willing), to simply put it through as an adult meal of some description, but other restaurants in the parks are refusing saying that the system doesn't allow it anymore.
