Last minute trip... Esta question

As the title suggests we are thinking of doing a cheeky last minute husband and wife getaway if the price is right in the school summer holidays(kids grown up but tied still to school hols due to work)
It would literally be a case of book one day and fly in the next day or two.
This obviously raises the question of applying for an Esta as we would not have specific dates or accomodation details when we apply for the Esta.
Has anyone done anything like this before and if so how did you fill in the Esta please?
As a side note we do have a trip planned for next year so would applying early for the Esta for this trip enable us to use the Esta for this years trip?
TIA

I'm not sure the address field is mandatory on the Esta form. I'm well into my second year of the current ESTA and i've used it for 5 trips so far, and never changed the address. You could just put one of the Disney Hotels.

Immigration will ask you, and you have to put the info in on API to Airline.

Having renewed our Estas at the weekend it’s not essential to include your accommodation details or contact details. If you click on the question mark symbol on each question it tells you what you can do and what details are necessary.
I believe you just put “unknown.”
We always have a valid Esta as a just in case!

As above. I would just apply for one and put UNKNOWN in the address details. We did ours at the weekend and used UNKNOWN as we will be travelling around. I believe your first night address needs to be given in the API to the airline, which is what immigration officials will use (could be wrong on that one though!)

Why don’t you just do your ESTAs now, so that they are in place...just in case a problem arises when you do get to do them. 🙂
