Shame you had to leave early to avoid footsicles! Looks like you still found fun things to do though.

It was a fun day - though I don't think Poot's in any hurry to be a "neutral" at a game again - nowhere near as much fun as cheering for the Twins. Mauer Power!

Wow another vall game, you've crammed them in this trip.

It's Good to hear there is lots of security around, we've booked for the Capitol tour and Pentagon tour, security will be very strict I'm sure. Unfortunately being a "foreigner" (trumps terminology) were unable to tour the white house.

Hmm...a rude woman poking around my handbag with a stick did not make me feel any safer! I feel this is all about managing LIABILITY - rather than security. And that just makes me

I understand the Capitol tours have very vigorous checks - and I'm sure the Pentagon is the same.

As someone who has lived as a foreigner (my terminology ) in two different countries (for many years) - I've gotten used to the fact that not everything will be the same for me than it is for my husband (here) - or our neighbours (in France). If it makes you feel any better, I can't tour 10 Downing Street...no-one can!

Only two baseball games on the trip (I laughed at the "cramming") - you must not be a fan!

Mmmmm donuts, I thought we were lucky at church getting hot buttered toast 😋

You did well to stay at the game as long as you did considering the weather 😬 It's fab to see the entertainment at different parks, the Presidents are hilarious! I think hot dogs are a perfectly acceptable baseball food, apparently they have lobster rolls at Fenway 😋

I'm pleased to see that all the books made it into the suitcase- Poot must have been pleased 😁 Packing to go home is never fun but its less stressful when you know everything fits!

Toast!

R.C. was raised a Methodist - he was amazed (and horrified) the first time we went to a party at our parish church (here in England) and there was...WINE!

The Presidents were great - I was only disappointed that the race was over so fast. My favourite ever mascot tradition was at (Milwaukee's) County Stadium - when the Brewers homered, Bernie Brewer used to slide down from his chalet, and into a vat of beer.

Sadly, political correctness did for the beer. Boo!

It's funny when you are old enough to remember a time before PC was a thing I'm not saying it was better but perhaps there were a few more 'fun' things!

Poor RC, I hope they blessed the wine before they started handing it out

I'm saying it was better - though I would never dream of speaking for you.

He wouldn't have any! And he drinks alcohol! It was just so funny - his parents were TT (like many Methodists) and he just couldn't bring himself to drink at church. Bless.

I really hope you fulfil your dream of visiting all the ballparks, it would be so interesting to read about your experience at each. Such a shame Poot didn't get to run the bases, that would have been a cool experience.

I was thinking the Air and Space museum didn't sound like my thing but the map of air raids sounds fascinating.

You can really tell how cold it was from the pictures today, so odd that the skies can be blue but you still know.

I flinched at the frost bite picture!

It gets worse and worse, first there's a lack of proper coats and now we find out poor Poot has been wearing crocs the whole trip goodness me his feet must have been freezing.

The meet and greet with the presidents sounds chaotic. I'm not sure I'd have had the patience or stamina for it. At least you got some good photos .

I hope you enjoyed your weather channel documentary on plane crashes as you say it's the perfect thing to watch just before a flight. I assume you know what to look out for now at least and so you can avoid disaster?

Oh and I liked the opening sentence when Poot described going to the ball game...we 'had' to go...like you were forcing him!

PS it's nice to have you back, but not for long I'm sure you must be off soon for your cruise. I imagine you've just got time to do all the washing and then you'll need to get packing again.
