You don't need them tbh if you are ready to go. Today we did Peter Pan, Dumbo, Tea cups, Buzz and the younger, fearless members of our party did Hyperspace Mountain and we were out and at Studios for Rope drop where they "quickly walked" to Crushes Coaster.
The only ride we didn't do was the Carousel.

When EMH changes, I believe only Fantasyland will be open, not Discoveryland. Most rides in Fantasyland are open during EMH, apart from IASW and maybe Snow White or Pinocchio (one of those is sometimes open).

So once you have done Peter Pan and Dumbo (essential to avoid big queues later) and maybe Teacups and the Carousel, and anything else open, think whether your party wants to do one of the other Fantasyland rides as a priority. My guess is, unless you have very small children or (like me) have an irrational attachment to IASW, those rides won't be priority for you. But if they are, you could be first in the queue for 10am for them, and maybe have a repeat ride as we often do for IASW.

If you want to grab one of the popular FPs (which will include Buzz Lightyear once it's not open during EMH) then you need to be at the gates of either Discoveryland or Frontierland before 10am in order to grab a Fastpass.

The craziest queues are always for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, partly because it is the only FP ride in Frontierland. The next nearest FP ride is Indiana Jones, and frankly I've never seen it have huge queues.

Phantom Manor and Pirates don't have Fastpass. They do get very popular but in my experience, queues for Pirates move quite quickly.

Because there are three FP rides in Discoveryland, I would guess that it will also be very popular at 10am, but perhaps the FP queues will be a bit more spread out. The non FP rides (Orbitron, Autopia and the Pixar short film festival in the old Captain EO theatre) are probably relatively easy to get into.

As for Studios, I have never experienced it with EMH but I'm guessing Ratatouille, ToT and R&RC will all be open (maybe Crush as well?) so that takes care of most of your FP rides.

It seems that WDS will have Crush and Ratatouille, possibly R&RC but not ToT.
