Mobile Mco 2nd bag drop?

Is it still best to avoid the second bag drop? We will have a double buggy with kids in, we'll put the hand luggage on the stroller. Hubby will have 2 suitcases and a car seat bag across his body. I know they are funny about the lift but I assume I'll be able to go up with the double buggy?

It would be easier to bag drop a second time but I've heard previous horror stories of waiting for hours!

It's only best to avoid it if you can all get up with luggage, children and strollers safely in one trip. No point trying to use it if you can't do it safely and I daresay the staff will stop you if they see you struggling.

The lift is only for disabled use and, according to someone on here who used it recently, you have to be let out at the monorail level by a staff member.

We always avoid it so we have no experience of how long it takes.

When we went thru MCO last Saturday they were advising everyone to avoid it if at all possible due to weather conditions delaying bag transfers I think. If you can manage without it, would highly recommend doing so, but don't risk your hubby doing himself an injury either

You are not allowed to take any luggage in the lift i found out on the last trip. My son has a disabled pram so was allowed to use the lift.If you can manage up the stairs then do it.

I would personally avoid it, we will be when we go back out in October.

Last year we had to wait 90mins for our car seat! We got all our bags pretty sharp, it was just the car seat that went missing. Wasn't too impressed, especially since we were already late due to our MCO flight being delayed 2 and a half hours.

We always avoid it, but there's three of us with one suitcase each so easy to get up the escalator!

He has carried the 2 cases and the car seats across Manchester airport so it's only the stairs that are the problem. The double buggy wouldn't actually fit on an escalator would it?!

It is actually called the 'Courtesy Bag Transfer'. They have staff there to assist you and they won't let you do anything silly. Bear in mind that if you haven't got a secure hold on your buggy or cases on the escalator, it could be really dangerous and injure your kids or other passengers. You won't have saved time if your kids end up in hospital! Kids safety is far more important than a wait at a baggage carousel.

I don't think a double buggy would fit on an escalator, you aren't meant to take any buggy on an escalator anyway, that's why I was asking if we'd be able to use the lift. I would take the kids up in the lift in the buggy and he would have the cases.

I've just found out on Facebook the lift is closed during renovations and only disabled people are allowed to use the alternative one and will be taken there by staff. Apparently everyone with strollers has to put them down and carry stroller up escalator or do 2nd bag drop. I don't know how true this is but there was a few that have been this last week saying the same. So that's us using 2nd bag drop but we were going to use it anyway and get bags xfered to disney hotel via ME.we used it last time and it was fine.
