That's the first day of the week done, feeling sicker and sicker, roll on Thursday so we know where we are.
It's weird how it's been leading to this, then when you find out you only have 4 weeks until they move in, yet you don't even know where they are moving too.
Not easy for us planners...

I know exactly what you mean. My daughter went to the local primary school which feeds into the local comprehensive school so she has always known where she is going next. Now it is the total unknown. We haven't bought anything as don't want to tempt fate. Her first choice would mean staying in halls but 2nd choice would mean staying at home as there aren't enough hall places for those living locally.

I have a mental list of stuff in my head if needed and have also been looking at hotel rooms this evening but can't book anything until Thursday. I just want to know what to plan, book and buy.

This happens every year. I rememeber it well with both of ours and there were tears and upset. Two years ago me and DS sat up most of the night because he was so nervous of his result. He got a message on twitter congratulating him about 6.30 am and I saw it pop up on his iPod and shouted for him to check his emails and he had one from the uni saying welcome. That was well before Track had opens know UCAS. DD was much easier as we were very confident she had got her first choice.
I thought it was all over when DS went to uni but it's not. We have just spent a stressful week waiting for DD to find out last Thursday if she has passed her OSCEs for optometry to be fully qualified. Neither of us slept and DH was up at the crack of dawn too.

I found that the hardest but when they get the news everything seems to fall into place. Emails roll in thick and fast and within a few days everything is sorted. I know it can be very stressful if they don't get the results they need but I think from what friends have said unis work hard to sort things for their students.

This shapes their future so much, fingers crossed for everybody.
Anybody else want to share?...
The Thursday after is youngest DS GCSE results day.
Just to say my ds has just finished his first year at Cardiff, I had lots of worries pre him going, but he has flourished. Feel free to pm any questions.

The maths courses ask such high grades. Exeter is my DS back up and he has to get AAB and Step 2, for his first choice he has to get A*AB and step 2. He was advised not to take a low grade option for his 2nd choice but I am very stressed that he could miss out
We have discussed all the options ' just in case' I think more for my peace of mind than his!
Not expecting much sleep Wednesday night

We wish everyone good results on Thursday and that they get to the Unis they want.

Our daughter Carole has just started working at Surrey University, as a admin officer, one of her jobs is at the Hub where students go with their problems. So will be rushed off her feet in October but she has been there herself at Hull.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's results on Thursday

Melvin and Lesley
