So after going on our once in a lifetime trip to Orlando last September, we have booked to go again next June/July. It has been a bit of a shock on the increases in prices between 2016 and 2018.

We have decided to go back to Highlands Reserve with Virgin as it's a nice community and is not too far away from everything.

I used this site a little bit last year as I found it a bit late on but will be using a lot more this time around.

The package deals with Virgin have increased, which I expected but not as much as they had.

The Freedom Tickets Plus have increased by over £220 as well.

we are going in june/July 2018 we also went in june 2016. While we have booked virgin fly drive and a villa which has come up cheaper than we paid last year we are hit with the increase of park tickets we have decided to buy universal tickets here in uk but as we only want to do a few Disney parks we are waiting to see what happens to dollar rate at the start of next year then we will decide to either pay at gate or buy here.

2012-2018 compared

We have just reserved 2-weeks for mid July 2018, first time just me and wife, but, gosh, it has gotten pricey.

When we first went in 2012 the 2-bed villa in OKW was £3,600, now the exact same accommodation is £7,400, over doubled in 6 years! The 14-day Ultimate tickets were £230, now they've increased by 75% to £400! The cost of our PE Thomson MAN-SFB flights have however reduced from £1,000pp in 2012 down to £900 now. What an odd lot!

Now the wife and I aren't big eaters so the DDP isn't that interesting which enables us to really look beyond the Disney DDP offerings and to the two Starwood on-site hotels where I've been able to use a mix of Marriott points and cash to keep the price reasonable.

So, overall considering the drop in the £ from 1.6 in 2012 to 1.3 now, I think I've dodged many of the price-hike bullets.

It has cost my family about £170 extra pp from 2016 to 2018 for the package from Virgin, which isn't too bad. But the park tickets are £220 more. In all, it's a £390 increase pp × 4, so £1,560!

On a side note, we will be there for July 4th, does anybody have recommendations?

Going back too in June 2018 and agree with everyone's comments.

The cost of going back to our favourite place has gone through the roof especially park tickets!

Better keep my 3 jobs juggled well in the air and save hard!

I last visited in 2015 and I've definitely noticed the price increases due to the pound dropping against the dollar. I've stayed at Highlands Reserve, it's a nice community I hope you have a great holiday
