Mobile Current U.K. Passport renewal times

There is a possibility I may be sending DS1 on a school skiing trip in half term next year so he will need his passport renewed.

Has anyone applied for a renewal recently and how long did it take ?

This will be need to be done before end of October to meet school requirements

Thank you

Thank you that's good to know. I believe (but may be wrong ) that it's possible to do it all on line now - is that correct ? Previously you could fill in a form on line which then got posted out but I believe things have moved on

Yes I think you can, although I personally did the post office checking service.

I've used that before and don't mind paying the extra pennies for peace of mind (although I know some dibbers have had issues with it)

Thank you

I did DS child passport renewal at the beginning of this month and it came back in a week.

You can fill in the forms on line but you still need to print and send off the declaration if you need to update and countersign new photo.

I renewed our two adult passports in June. I did everything online, including uploading new photos. I then just had to send off our old passports, to two different passport offices. The news ones came back within a week.
