APPLE iPHONE...WILL IT WORK?
The Apple iphone is released in the USA tomorrow (29/06) and looks absolutley amazing! Thing is its not released in the U.K. until November (at a much greater price too i'd imagine knowing Apple  !)
Question is, does anybody have any concrete facts as to wether i'd be able to get one (in October) and bring it back? I read that its contract only on AT&T which I dont believe would work here, then I read elsewhere that it can be bought handset only for $800.00! |

Yep - Vodaphone have got some form of exclusivity for the European market.
Not sure how long it will last for though. Jools |

I think this question is more directed at picking one up in the US now-ish and bringing it back and using it in the UK.
A few complications... 1. The iPhone can, I believe, only be bought with an AT&T contract. So you'd have to sign up, and pay for, that. 2. The iPhone is locked into AT&T. I'm not aware of any way of unlocking it yet, although no doubt this will become available in time. 3. I think the iPhone, as sold in the US right now, only works on the US (and Canadian) frequency, not the frequency used for mobiles in the UK (and Europe). In short - no, I don't think it will work! |
