There are a couple of developments with restaurants supermarkets walkable but not really viable without a car you might be better looking at a Town house at Regal Oaks on the 192
Where uber to and from the parks might be a viable option There are a couple of dibb homes on there |

We love the town houses, like Cane Island - as luxurious as a villa, almost as much space, no private pool, but you get a communal pool which is nice...close to shops / restaurants / and parks and transport (and cheaper!)

Nobody walks in Florida. When we stayed on I-Drive many years ago we would take the car to get to shops on the opposite side!

We stayed at a lovely Dibb villa on Highgrove last year. It has a pub/restaurant at the entrance and you could walk possibly to Chilis and Walmart (although they are across a busy road), also to the local town centre area which I am sure has places to eat but to be honest we would always have a car if staying anywhere in a villa.

Our villa at Oak Island Harbor at Formosa Gardens is a 15/20 min stroll to lots of restaurants and a supermarket. One of the reasons we love the location.

Some villas on Highlands Reserve are within walking distance of "Berry Town Centre". There is Applebees,I hop,Publix,Chinese, bar and Pizza place there as well as a few others.
Wouldn't want to be in a villa without a car though as everything is so spread out. Edited at 11:37 AM. |

We stayed in the Orange Tree community along the 27, it was within walking distance of Walmarts & Chillis etc... but I wouldn't recommend you stopped any further away. So any communities up to that point would be feasible, nit sure about getting to parks though!

Don't forget the heat and humidity wills low you down if you do walk and not all roads/walkways will be proper pavements as Floridians don't really walk anywhere of distance

Regal Palms is next door to Berry Town Center, with a Publix and 9 restaurants/bars, so within walking distance. However, as others have said, you will need a car (your own or Uber/taxi) to go anywhere else as there is little public transport in the villa areas.
