We saw the Symphony in the Stars version in 2016 and were blown away by it, particularly as we were under the impression it was an interim show until the "real" one was ready. Definitely less impressed by the version with projections. It's ok, just not mind blowing.
If I'm completely honest I'm really not too bothered at all about projection shows and had started to wonder whether it's me or whether everyone is a bit emperor's new clothes about them lol.

Still think there was a difference between the fireworks in August 2016 and August 2017 even though people are saying the other show ended June 2016. 😐

We thought there was less fireworks and more projections August 2017 compared to August 2016. We didn’t have a good view in 2016 and felt like we had really missed out, in 2017 we had a good view but wished we hadn’t bothered.

It's like the Epcot fireworks, compared to what it was originally like, where the countries lit up, it's nowhere near as good now. Much less fireworks. Much cheaper.

With the Studios redevelopment they had to move the firework firing site. They were being fired from within the park boundary and that was no longer possible so they built a new location across World Drive to fire them off from, tha'st why the big shells appear off centre. The location is over a mile from the viewing location so they are some pretty big shells they are smashing out each night.

Sadly due to the new site it does lack the wow factor of the old show.

I didn’t manage to catch the original show, but I love the projection show. Can’t wait to see it again this year.
