so do I a) use a website to find the insurance I need - any recommendations and then b) if it is coming in expensive, use an alternative website to book a new car hire with insurance included to see if that is cheaper - again which sites do you recommend (I've tried Discount FCH and was getting £310 for economy)

Thanks
I won't touch the DIY Insurances, too much hassle in my view. With the prices you are quoting I would go with Andy.

Andy’s quote is £50 cheaper, it’s a no brainer for me. I’d forget about upgrading the ‘free car’, ditch it and book with Andy. Won’t even ask for a deposit.

We had the "free c ar" with TC but decided after advice on the dibb to book our own car through BA executive club, which includes all the insurances we need and an extra driver This cost less than the upgrade cost of the TC car and also a bigger car!
