For those that have had Express...
Hello all-
My question is to those who have stayed at a Deluxe, specifically RPR. We are looking into a 14 night holiday next July (2nd to the 16th). We are wanting to do a split stay - 3 nights at Universal and 11 nights at Disney. I had previously thought about doing the 3 nights at SF (mainly because we fell in love with this hotel last year) but obviously, you don't get Express. But I didn't want to spend all that money and not actually relax and enjoy the hotel so the extra night (and technically day) would give us that. But I've been thinking about 2 nights at Universal (at RPR) with the Express and adding on the day at Disney, so to do a 2 + 12 instead. How long does it take you to do the parks with Express? I just wondered if you would have enough time to actually enjoy RPR? We normally go on at IOA: Forbidden Journey (x2), Jurassic Park, Dudley Do-Right's, Popeye and Bluto's, Hulk (x2), and Spiderman. And at USF: Gringotts (x2), Rip Ride Rockit, Simpsons, MIB, Shrek, Transformers, Mummy and with a bit of time for Blues Brothers, and would also like to do Minions this time. Not bothered about Fast and the Furious. What advice does everyone have? |

We only stayed at RPR for one night last summer and had just a 2 day ticket so could use Express for 2 days. We found it gave us plenty of time to do everythingand even ended up at the pool at RPR for the afternoon on our first day before heading back to the parks in the evening. We didn't have tickets for Volcano Bay though.

We can do the parks in 2 days but it doesn’t leave much time for the resort. If you really want to spend some time at the hotel I’d book 3 nights really just because your first day is arrival day so you can’t take advantage of getting there early.

We've done 1 night in PRP and used it to break the day up, starting in the parks really early and then using the pool in the afternoon, eating poolside and then heading back into the parks for the evening.
The express passes allow you to do most of the parks in 2 days - Volcano Bay wasn't open then though and we do do more than the days we are actually physically staying there, so do the show type attractions which can eat time, on those. Almost didn't book this year and then changed our minds. It's the part of the holiday we are looking forward to the most. |
