Question Universal "Fast Pass" - style ticket

I hear there was some version of Disney's Fast Pass at Universal Studios / IOA?

How does it work? Same as Disney or different.

Not staying at Universal resort if that makes a difference.

I'm no expert but according to my Brits Guide / Unofficial Guide Universal Express Pass works in a similar way to Disney.
It might be worth a search of the forums as there have been a number of (lengthy) discussions on the Dibb recently because the machines seem to be out of action / covered up quite often even in busy times. Universal also sell an Express Pass which can be used on a particular day for one front of line access to each Express Pass ride - prices vary according to season. You also get front of line access if you stay on-site at a Universal hotel.

I paid for the express plus pass. In my honest opinion it wasnt worth the money, the lines were not very long on the day we chose to go and it was mid June. I purchaced the passes before We arrived. Next time i would wait and check out crowd levels before buying. this pass allows you express pass access to each ride once without waiting around for a pass wndow to open. Really you can then get all the express rides done in one morning. They didnt sign/mark our express card a lot of the time so we were sneekily able to use it again on some rides. Universal didnt mark our card at all so we gave them away to another couple on our way out. They looked at us a bit strangley though, like whats the catch!
