Restaurants near SSR
We have recently just purchased our first DVC contract and are pulling together lists of restaurants to eat off site.
I have looked at Red Lobster etc which seem to be about 30 mins walk from SSR. Any other recommendations for good offers/restaurants within walking distance? Our plan for our trips is to eat breakfast in our room after stocking up from Walmart, take sandwiches and snacks etc for the parks then have a decent meal out in the evening with a couple of beers. We have our 3 year old but are happy to walk as he will happily go in the buggy. Excited to go next April now. |

You can walk to Disney Springs from SSR. Wide range of restaurants there.

There is a Winn Dixie a lot closer than the Walmart, not sure how they compare price wise but first stop would be Customer Services to get a Winn Dixie reward card which allows all the card holder discounts to be added.
Obviously DS is closest but I'd still class that as "On property" so "The Crossroads" is about 20-25 mins away & then there are more along the 535 once there. Uno's McD's Perkins The Knife Chevy's Fuddruckers Chillis Johnnies Hideaway Kobe Black Fire Black Angus Miller's SteaknShake Carrabas Olive Garden Burger King Dennys Ihop Manny's Chop House Plus all the ones I've forgot to mention! Even more the other side of I4 plus towards the Premium Outlets SD

You can walk to Crossroads in about 20 mins maybe?
Problem is they are demolishing Crossoads to build a ramp. I have not been for donkey’s years (I still remember a bar there called Jungle Jim’s we used to go to with a powerful cocktail name of which escapes me) and last time I went it was maybe 10 years ago to Chevys (which I remember being really good). So I’m not sure if anything will survive the demolition as I am not aware of the layouts - orlandoweekly/Blogs/...t-disney-world Disney Springs has some great restaurants- higher priced of course but some good quick serve too and I hear that Wine Bar George has some reasonably priced meals.

YT demo for Crossroads "triangle" has been put back indefinitely, everything still there last year (2019)
JS we do it all the time worst case we would walk then get a "Lyft" back, we also walk to Premium Oulets at Vineland but that is a good 45-60 min walk. I would say that from Disney Springs you are approx 1 mile - 1.5 miles to the Crossing & once there there are plenty of options within 10 mins. We often do takeaway from Olive Garden & walk back to SSR. Remember to consider where you are in SSR though, Grandstand would easily add 10 mins on & Paddock could be 10 or 5 depending on which end. It’s under a mile from Disney Springs (the nearest bit) to the Crossroads entrance, my Garmin suggests 0.8 miles if that helps but I was going a slightly different way. It took us well under 15 minutes but we are decently quick walkers. Uber was very cheap on the way back

Looks like that article in May 2020 Scooby is saying many or most businesses have shut up shop in the pandemic in Crossroads. Sad times. Good tip on the Crossing, we quite like Olive Garden.
