BA Holiday Package Question

Hi All

I am looking to book a BA flight and car package for next April. On the booking page it states the following if you need to Amend:

Hotels or cars (as part of a 'flight + hotel' or 'flight + car' package)
More than 72hrs before travel: £100.00 single fee
Less than 72hrs before travel: £200.00 single fee
Plus any difference in price.


So if we cannot travel for whatever reason in April does that mean we would lose £100 even if we just want to change the dates to later in the year? Its not entirely clear as there terms and conditions page state you would be able to change the holiday at no additional cost apart from non refundable hotels/experiences but the car rental is refundable as per AVIS terms.

Anyone booked and had any experience?

With a BA package, you can cancel any time up until 3 weeks before you go (which is when your balance is due) and get a voucher for the deposit paid. You can then use this to re-book an alternative holiday. I guess you always have to factor in the difference in price too...

I don't mind getting a voucher, just didn't really want to lose £100. I know its not a huge amount compared to what some have lost on holidays but during these times, I am trying to save money where I can!

We booked a flight and car package with BA for next April , prices are really good , I'm not sure if we will be able to go in April , so being able to change the booking at no extra cost was a really good deal .

The packages do now seem to indicate that you will lose £100 or £200 depending on when you cancel for the hotel portion of your booking.

Are BA holidays not all flexible just now ? when I booked a few weeks ago it was on the understanding that we could change for no fee (which we are ready have to add on connecting flights for cheaper) or cancel and get a voucher and I’m sure that was for holidays up till Aug 2021.

When we booked for May 2021 the flexible booking policy only went out until 30th April 2021.

We booked in June 2020. At that point we would have been charged £150 to change flights or £100 to change car.

The rules have since changed, the end date for changes has moved from 30th April 2021 to 31st August 2021. We can now change with no charge as long as we give 3 weeks notice. Excellent customer service.

Just booked ourselves and as you say if you change the accommodation it’s £100 up to 72 hours before and £200 after. No charge for flight amendments.

Any idea if this just related to flight and hotel or if the flight and car also has a comparable cancellation fee?
