We absolutely love Cocoa Beach, spent the day there in October, was 103’ when we got back to the car! We took a cool box from the villa with loads of drinks and some snacks, and had ice cream on the beach. Was a perfect day. We love the East Coast beaches.

If you are going in April (I am being too lazy to actually figure out from your countdown), I would head to the gulf coast. The Atlantic coast is much more popular for college/university spring breakers and you may find them disruptive (noisy, volleyball, frisbees etc) if you want a quiet family day at the beach.
