1 day at DLP with 4 year old girl
She's mad on the Princesses, Mickey & Handy Manny.
We've got 1day/2park tickets for the Sunday of half term and wondered what the best rides to go for are and if there is a better "order" to do them in. Thanks |

i'm not sure about order, but i would definitely get there for park opening and head straight to fantasyland for the dumbo ride, peter pan, snow white, teacups, etc etc. if she likes rollercoasters then thunder mountain is a good one, but might be too scary. the haunted mansion is a great ride.
the thing to watch in DLP is the haracters, there are no orderly queues as in florida, just mad crowds pushing and shoving to be first, which can be daunting for younger children whojust want a photo

Are you thinking of attempting both parks in 1 day or just concentrating on 1?

Definatly get in early and do make your way to the rides you want to do first. We went on a very busy day a couple of years ago, we wernt staying on site. I think we only ended up doing dumbo ride and we q'ed for over an hour with our 5 yr old, we also had a 14m in pram. As it was busy we decided to take in the surroundings and make the most of the 'play areas' the weather was lovely, we saw characters around and about rather than waiting in q's. Just realx and enjoy the overall experience.

Hi
1 day for 1 park is not really long enough, so 1 day for two is really pushing things. To give you an idea of what you can realistically fit in - have a read of my second trip report below - this was one day hopper with our two toddlers. We were VERY choosy about where we went, but got a lot in considering the time. If your DD loves princesses, then perhaps you could consider booking lunch with the princesses in Disneyland at the castle (do this in advance). We had our lunch at Cafe Mickey's at the end of downtown, which was a hike. You probably don't need to touch downtown at all. In terms of rides, just so you know the queue for Dumbo has always been horrendous, as is the Peter Pan one... you should definitely grab a fast pass for the Peter Pan ride early on, to help skip that queue. It's a small world is a good ride for little ones, and the queue is fast. You could probably skip tomorrow land completely, and much of adventure land, apart from Pirates of the Caribbean. Pick up the leaflets on the way in and you will find out where and when character meets are likely to be. Have fun though... Disney isn't just about getting on as many rides as possible... just the atmosphere and the ambience and the parades are great in themselves :-) |
