Davey Crocketts Ranch

Having stayed there about 10 times, We would strongly recommend it.
We book direct witrh Disney and have never got a cheaper price from anybody else.
We normally travel with P and O from Dover, Its a good Idea to pay for priority unloading its £10 each way but you can pay for it just on the way out if you like which means you are loaded 1st so you can get up to the food court so no bun fight for food. THen you get unloaded 1st so you can crack on with the journey.
Journey time from Calais is around 3 hours. Make sure you either have a 20 euro note or your credit card ready for the tolls. Also put the ticket somewhere safe so you aren't scrabbling around for it at the booths.

When you Get to DCR you have to show your paper work to the gate guy so that he lets you check in so also keep that handy. After you have booked in at reception. You will be given a pin code to lift the barrier. THey say they can't promise you entry to your cabin until 4 in the afternoon but most times we have been we have got in by 2 0r 3.

The Cabins are set on TRails which is a loop that you can only go one way on. either one or 2 bedrooms each one has its own parking space and picnic table and BBQ right outside.
THe one bedroom has a double bed and bunkbed in one room. with a pull down sofa bed in the living area.

THe 2 bedroom has a double room at the back of the cabin and a small room with bunkbeds at the other end. THis provides more storage space for clothes and bags. Also there is a double sofa bed in the Lounge.

It has a Kitchenette with 2 rings and a microwave, Fridge with freezer box, and Dishwasher, you get 2 dishwasher tablets but no washing up liquid.
So you may need to take extra.
THe Bathroom has a shower over bath and the towels are provided, THe Toilet is separate which is quite handy, But the Toilet can get pretty parky in the winter as there isn't any heating in it. If you go in the winter months I suggest you turn the heating on as soon as you get in the cabin to take the chill off. We crank it up during the day so its nice when we get back. THe Shutters are a nice touch anre really keep out the light they have to be closed from the outside.
The Tv doesn't really show a lot appart from french channels and sports, there is a Disney info channel in English, Would reccommend Taking a lap top if you have a dvd player.
The Breakfast is collected from a little hut at the opening to your Trail, You get Chousants and french stick jam, nutella, butter, coffee, tea, and orange maid. In the winter you also get Pain au chocolete.

THe On site shop is quite small I would recommend you buy food and drink before you get there as it is very limited and obviously more expensive.
There is a petting Farm and childrens paly area we have only ever been out of seasdon but I imagine it could get quite busy.

THe Pool is nice there are floats for the kids to take in the water and a small lazy river and childrens playpool, there are also 2 spas although they weren't working last time we went. The restrant over looks the pool which is nice.
THe food has always been good in my experiance its freshly cooked while you wait. There is genrally quite a good salad cart as well.
You do get Characters coming around the table but it is very hit and miss noramlly its lesser characters like robin hood, and co. But last time we went Mickey dressed in his trappers outfit was the only charatcer we saw.
Haven't been to the pub so can offer no opinion other than it looks quite nice, THe area is dressed really nicely at Christmas totally in keeping with the rest of Disney.
Its a really quick 5 minute drive to Disney and the cost of PArking is included in the price. THe TRavolators are great fun for the children and play all sorts of Disney music. Which is a nice start and finish to the day. My DD loved the drinks machines in the Carpark as they made the sound of opening coke pouring coke as you passed. Only at disney lol.

Hope this helps people who are still making up there minds.

Visited Camp Davy Crockett three times & loved it,

Booked through Disney direct, Accomadtion only as we've combined our visits with our holidays in France.

Love the fact we have our car with us & can come & go as we please.

A big plus is that we don't have to share a bed-room with the kids!

Also a great pool

Our only on-site experience but we don't think we have lost out by staying there but have gained. Characters are around throughout the day.

there has been so much info posted already i will be brief

Stayed at Santa Fe in the winter season on 2 occassions and it has been perfect as we were not needing a swimming pool etc...it was clean comfortable and we had a door inbetween rooms and friends in the room next door with their DD.

We have stayed in the Sequioa lodge in the summer season and loved it so much so that this is where we would book again the next time if we were there again in the summer. great pool and nice rooms.

both had good breakfast provisions to keep you going the morning.

we felt that the transport from Santa fe was fantastic and regular only down side was peolple were really rude and pushed there way into the bus. if you have small children as we do you really have to be careful that they are not getting squashed by adults forcing themselves into the bus.

the sequoia lodge we only used the bus once or twice as we enjoyed the stroll from the hotel to the park entrance Via the lake and disney village.

like the fact that we get our park passes in with the hotel even though they are more expensive they do have deals.

i would really recommend that you book direct with disney and if you phone them they can arrange different modes of transport and so much cheaper than anything else i could find.

Hotel: Disneyland Hotel

Fantastic hotel, the theming is very subtle though and for very young children might miss it.

The location is truly superb, you walk out of the hotel straight into the Park.

The buffet breakfast and dinner are superb.

We were collected by chauffeur from CDG and it was luxury all the way.

Our kids needed warm milk for their bottles and it was provided by room service no problem.

The pool is lovely too.

I would love to stay there again.

Hotel: Campanile chain

This hotel was terrible! The door to our room kept sticking and the staff just couldnt be boethred to help us - this is a serious problem when you are trying to get into your room at midnight with two tired children and you have to wait an hour for a memebr of staff!

There was a used condom on the floor of our bedroom.

There was a leak from the bathroom all over the carpet.

I would definately not stay there again, staff service dreadful, too far from parks, dirty -my advice is spend a few more euros and stay somewhere decent!

There was no food in any of the vending machines and you can only drink water as resatuant closes at 9 and no bar.

Sorry guys - give this one a miss!

My Travel Explorers (October half term 2006)= BUSY!

BARGAIN £50 for family of 4 per night via EXPEDIA.

Great for kids with themed pool including slides and a huge indoor play area (free) plus 2 games rooms. Continental breakfast was very basic. Drinks in bar very expensive but they did have a nightly happy hour. Clean rooms fresh towels daily etc. Interactive t.v. with playstation.

SHUTTLE BUS but we used car with FREE parking at the NEW YORK or any other hotel etc with our 365 day DREAM AP's @ £110 with massive discounts, early entry, VIP fastpasses, buzz pins etc.

NORFOLKLINE £45 return = excellent! - play area for kids/playstations/bar/cafe. They allowed us on earlier ferry just 10 mins before departure. Journey to DLRP from Dunkerque just 3 hours 7 a.m. - 10 a.m. Whole journey from South Wales 9 hours (we would have spent nearly that much time in airport before plus flight then luggage retrieval and transfer). Kids slept with comfy pillows or watched dvd etc and we had a nice break on ferry.

ABSOLUTE BARGAIN!
