Can you take alcohol through customs on eurostar?

JUst thought i would take a bottle or 2 of vino through to drink in the room of an evening when kids asleep with the hubby. However not sure you are allowed to put in your bag when going on eurostar. Any advice please.

Many thanks

Louise

Im not sure about euro star but the little shop in the station at dlp sell wine and other drinks I think you have to use the shuttle bus to the hotel rather than go thru bag check!

I would never take wine to France when they have so much on offer at such good prices... coming back, I may have a few in my bag though

We've taken champagne and drunk it on the train whilst celebrating my OH's birthday. Movement of alcohol within the EU is fine. You've paid the tax on it.

From Eurostar's site:

"Our rules on alcohol

Of course, there's no harm in a little tipple while you travel, but to make sure everyone's safe, happy and healthy, we've got some rules around how much alcohol you can travel with.

We reserve the right in our Conditions of Carriage to confiscate and destroy excessive quantities of alcohol being carried by our passengers.

So, if you've got more than five units of alcohol on your person, we may confiscate some or all of the alcoholic drinks in question.

It's our right to refuse to allow (or to refuse to continue to allow) access to our services if a passenger's physical or mental state is affected by alcohol or drugs."
