I think this part of your reply can be taken as a little offensive too tbh, if I was the type to take offence at such things.

Lots of us (myself included) had already replied to you telling you what we love about DLP, but then after all that, you come back stating that you really don't want to go.

Well, as I said, if I really didn't want to go somewhere, especially when it costs a fair bit of money, then I wouldn't go... well maybe if it was free I might consider it.

It's possible that you could go to DLP, enjoy every second and think, what was I worrying about. I've been to DLP many times, first was 9 yrs ago,and the thought of all the planning required for WDW put me off for a long time, then we went to WDW and it completely wowed us- (but there are still things there that I thought 'is that it?'), and I thought I would never return to DLP, our heads had been turned, and now were going this summer for our 10th trip having not been for 3yrs and I feel as though I'm visiting an old friend- were all so excited, over the yrs I've seen my kids grow up at DLP, our youngest was 4months on the first trip and now he's gonna join me on Space Mountain for the first time.

Btw, there's also this City 20 miles down the road... in Epcot there's some mock ups!

We haven't been to DLP since 2007. We are going for what will be our 8th visit this August. DS (who will be 19 when we go) can't wait to re-visit. He would rather go here than back to WDW.

We have done dlp 5 times. We went to wdw over Easter and i thought that we'd never go back to dlp but we're going back. To cut a long story short my son who's 13 asked if we could go back to Disneyland Paris - he says he prefers the magic kingdom at Paris over wdw, says some of the rides are better. This is just his opinion and i know some will disagree but it doesn't matter its the enjoyment he gets from visiting this place.

I'm looking forward to the dreams show and light up ears from what I've seen on YouTube it looks magical.

Yes. Priced up staying on site and it was a fortune for the three of us (though it has come down a bit now).

The only thing I would say and this is my own opinion...

Depending on where you want to stay, DLP can either be not so lovely or amazing! The Disneyland park is nice and pretty much the same as the magic kingdom. The studios however doesn't even compare to Hollywood studios, no Fantasmic to start with!

So back to my original point, first time we went we stayed at the Santa fe hotel, (cheap option). In my opinion it really does feel cheap, the restaurant was like feeding time at the zoo. Barging and pushing in line, no one waiting their turn. People filling cool bags full of stuff, (everyone takes the odd pastry with them, but this was almost emptying the shelves) The buses are also a nightmare, like a rugby scrum people trying to get on and off!

However...

second time we went we saved a bit more and stayed in the Disneyland Hotel. This was a completely different experience. The price tag represents the service you get, no scrum for food, characters in the hotel, turning over service (think that's what its called) No buses as you are right on the entrance to the parks. This is a very magical hotel and completely made the holiday for us.

DLP shuts much earlier than WDW, so you will spend time in your hotel, Santa fe's bar was packed and there were a lot of drunk people and kids running riot. Disneyland hotel has a piano bar, which is much much more elegant, the kids sat quietly drawing while the wife and I had a nice well deserved cocktail.

DLP is what you make of it, as a stop gap between WDW trips its an ideal fix!
