Wonder when she's due to take her driving test? Looks like she might need some more lessons first!

Well it’s not that stressful to park in my street yet a care worker continuously parked across the drive opposite us preventing us from reversing out of our driveway even though there was plenty other space to park. As our drive is on a bend in the road we really struggled.

Anyway one day we were blocked in yet again and were running late to pick up our 4 year old granddaughter from nursery. I went over to ask her to move the car and it was a male care worker who opened the door. He was very aggressive and rude and rather than argue with him I told him not to bother I would just take a photo of the car and report them to the council as I had had enough. The woman care worker came running out and moved the car immediately and she always parked okay after that. It was lazy parking to save walking a few extra yards.

Can I ask , nothing to do with the midwife, why you don’t park across your parent’s drive when visiting ? To me it seems easier than your dad finding a space on the road . When my disabled mum visits me I just leave the space across the drive empty ,unless your parents drive isn’t wide enough for that .

Cars park opposite their drive and so if I blocked their drive I’d have to park on the pavement to make room for cars to pass.

Ridiculous, isn't it?!

Definitely worth standing up for yourself in those circumstances.

If the house owner wishes to formally complain of course they can.
We'll have to agree to disagree there.

We might but given my work is professional information governance for the NHS who reports staff to professional bodies for exactly this type of thing I do know what I’m talking about.

I don't doubt there is legislation about this written down.

I also, still, believe that, in reality, a midwife parking on another driveway because she had no choice in an urgent situation would make it clear in some way - even if it's through speed of movement, body language, facial expressions etc..

There would be a difference communicated somehow, from a midwife just walking up to a routine appointment. ...Because, if they really don't have time to move their vehicle they'd have to indicate it. Otherwise, they can be reasonably expected to return and move it.

It is possible to communicate these things without giving away much of anything and, sometimes, it's necessary.

So, like I said, agree to disagree on the practicalities. Especially since this is a bit of a deviation!

ETA: Can I just clarify, I'm really not questioning or doubting your knowledge. I'm just saying you can't legislate for all scenarios.

Do people actually report their parking? It annoying but not worth trying to get NHS workers in trouble over.

Edit: I’ve just realise you mean they get reported for saying it’s an emergency etc or sharing information
