I am sorry for people who prefer larger accommodations, but this makes perfect sense. Given how much more difficult it is to book a studio than any other room type, it was about time DVC recognized that. And they didn't make the mistake of making only studios like the Poly, there are a few larger units as well.
This larger proportion makes even more sense at Disneyland where the average stay is much shorter.
At WDW people may spend weeks and a larger room makes the vacation more comfortable. At DLR the focus is on the parks and people stay fewer days.
Proof is that we can get a 3 weeks ticket for WDW, while at DLR the maximum length is 5 days I believe.
This also makes me think the point chart will be incredibly high and DVC though there wouldn't be much market for larger rooms because they'll cost a fortune.

Agree it totally makes sense- but Zavandor, I thought you were told 1 beds were always some of the first to be booked up

Latest news released yesterday at dvcnews/resorts/other-pr...ey-endorsement

And there's some more info at wdwnt/2020/07/new-artwor...water-feature/ which breakdowns the tower’s 350 rooms which would include 253 deluxe studios, 38 smaller, two-person tower or “pod” studios, 18 two bedroom lock-off villas, 20 dedicated two-bedroom suites, 19 one-bedroom suites and two Grand Villas.

If it's in keeping with the DLH then I will be interested. Used pts to stay there before so to have a dedicated DVC side would be great. Really enjoyed our stay there.

Small footprint, generic hotel. No services, small lobby.

Also the small rooms again. This is so they can market these as ‘You can get a week for x points’. The ones at Riviera are more points than a studio at Boardwalk- no thanks!

Give me the Grand Californian every time (well I think, never been but will review in summer!)
VGC is my fav resort. We’ve stayed 3 times for 5 nights each and I’m never ready to leave.
