Be aware, PO 'check and send' don't guarantee the service, understandable as human error happens, the checking PO will refund the C&S fee. They offer nothing more than what one can do themselves, thoroughly check before submitting online/mail. Online application is £25.50 per pp cheaper than paper application with check and send.

So as I promised in post No.8 it came in this morning at 9am. So just 8 1/2 days using the online renewal service.
And still maroon if anyone is bothered, just doesn’t have European Union written on the front.

Edited at 01:59 PM. Reason: Extra information

I found the same. Doing the photos was easy too. I'd always do it online now.

I applied yesterday online for a renewal one. I was surprised how easy it was as I dislike tech stuff. Brillant and cheaper! Posted old one today so am now waiting for the new one...

Can I ask, can I renew a child’s passport where they are a baby in the previous photo but are now 4/5 years old, online? Just wondering if anyone has done this recently. Thanks.

Yes. Once you have a passport then all subsequent ones are renewals. You will probably need new photos though.

Same here. As above. It might cost a few pounds more but well worth it in my opinion.

Last week myself and DH did our applications online, uploaded our photos from our iphones. I took the old passports to our local post office the same day and sent them off to be signed for.

This was Monday afternoon, we both received our new passport on Friday lunchtime.

Can't fault the service, easy, quick and straight forward.
