I've checked your model TV and it appears to have 2 hdmi slots.
You will need a Roku express, you must get the one with the Amazon Prime app already downloaded.
They are around £30 in Argos or Amazon
You then connect it to your TV, sign in to Amazon Prime and then you can watch it.

My so called smart TV in the kitchen didn't have the Amazon Prime downloaded, so I bought a Roku express and I can now watch Prime on that TV.

That's how I would do it anyway.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the trouble to answer.

I think I am getting there now! Helen J - thank you for checking my TV and yes it does have 3 hdmi slots (at least I know what they are now lol).

Do you know if a Roku Express comes with a lead that will fit my TV as standard please? I have seen a couple of second hand ones on Ebay.

Many thanks again everyone, you have all been wonderful!

You plug it into a HDMI socket and this has 2.

Roku box should come with one, but being secondhand you would need to check they are including it. It is just a standard hdmi cable though.

Personally I would get a Firestick HD (not 4k one as your TV is not 4k) over a Roku Express as it has a wider scope of apps etc that you can install.

I think you have mis read the op, it's says they were given a new(ish) tv to replace one that's 14 years old, not that this tv is 14 years old.

the firetv kit is down in price right now

amazon/Amazon-Fire...nguag e=en_GB

the 4k stick is only £30. the original 1080p stick is £20. personally, i'd spend the extra tenner and get the 4k stick, even if you dont have a 4k tv. it is *so* much faster, it'll give you an extra couple of years before it slows to a crawl

depends what you mean by old.

as long as you have a HDMI socket, it will work

the stick is powered by USB. so if your tv has a usb port, you can potentially run it off that, but any mains socket usb charger should also work

if you dont have a hdmi socket, but you do have VGA input or some other type, you can get adapters, but its potentially more hssle than its worth
