Mobile Any dog groomers on here?

I have a question but not sure if you can answer.
Had both my dogs the weekend before last. Four days later both dogs needed vet treatment for fungal foot infection. This also happened to one of the dogs before Christmas, a week after being groomed at the same groomers.
It all seems a bit coincidental to me but I haven’t been able to have a proper chat to our vet about it due to the lockdown.
Is this something that can be picked up at the groomers?
Thanks in advance.

I’m interested In This as our boy attends the groomers every 6 weeks.

Have you had any paw problem with your boy?
Just to be clear, I’m not looking to lay any claim on the groomers here at all. I will just find a different groomer and ask about their hygiene practices between dogs. It just seems too coincidental with the timings both times. We have been going there for over 5 years now as they started off really small but the business has really grown and it does sometimes feel a bit like a conveyer belt now. The personal touch had really disappeared and now this.

Thankfully (touch wood) we havent. I fully understand your fears though as 'exposure' to other dogs must occur. Our groomer too appears to have taken off recently as she is not taking new bookings and uses her current established customer base.

Im glad our boy is up to date with with his jabs (incl Kennel Cough) because you just never know.

there is a small chance they picked it up at the groomers if they are not being through with the cleaning between dogs but its far more likely that its something they've picked up walking elsewhere after they have been groomed as after their feet are groomed more of the pad/skin can be exposed making it more vulnerable.
do they get any paw treatments like wax or balms?

Thanks mandco. I have paw balm but getting on them is such a wrestle I haven't used it in ages.

I was going to suggest you try the grooming at home, my Dil bought a clipper and does their sproodle! But if you struggle with foot touching, you would struggle with a full groom.
