Mobile Anyone thinking of getting a few shares

With markets going down, could now be a good time to dip a toe in?

Never touched any like this do unsure and would. Only start with say £100

Try and work out who is close to creating a jab for this Virus

Maybe Bayer, or Glaxo Smith Kline.

To be honest unless I was prepared to lose the lot I would keep clear of shares at the moment.

We've bought some in Carnival Corp (cruise line). Hubby was on about getting some royal dutch shell but not sure if he did. Obviously its a risk so you have to be prepared you may lose it. But potential long term gains are also huge if the companies recover to their former strength.

I have been drip feeding the market in the past few weeks and will continue to do so for the coming months.

I use funds (contains shares, bonds and gilts) as shares are just like horses unless you know in-depth details about a company - and even then it is mega high risk.

No one on the planet can predict where the bottom will be but as long as you are looking 7-10 years out, the market will recover. Less than that, keep the cash unless you can afford to lose the lot.

Edited at 05:55 PM.

If it’s something you’ve always wanted to have a go at, and you could afford to lose some of your £150, then do it !

There will probably be fees though, so any gain could be swallowed up.

We bought some carnival shares last week - not the best impulse move we've ever made but we're in it for the long term - well we are now

The fees were only £12.50 + 1% i think - not much really x

My biotech funds are the only ones not tanking.
I think they should halt all stockmarket trading, continuing will just allow the already mega rich to buy up cheap stocks and hold even more of the worlds wealth.
My carefully chosen pension funds were doing so well, up 50% in a a year prior to this, oh well, at least 8 years till I will draw on them, we’ll just have to grit our teeth and get through this.
