DH built our wardrobes and we have a specific area for long coats and jackets.

If they’re wet they dry out in a bathroom before going away.

Our house is only small and I am a bit obsessive about it being tidy, so no hooks in halls and no stuff hanging on banisters or anywhere else.

Everything gets put away.

Just came on here after reading the what do you call your cat thread. Completely misread this title as where do you hang your cats😳😂.

We keep ours on hooks at the bottom of the stairs apart from raincoats which are hung in a cupboard under the stairs. At the moment winter coats are stored in the loft. Once we need them they are brought down and the more lightweight coats replace them in the loft.

We are lucky to have a purpose built cupboard in our hallway so that’s where they go. We are in a new build and it was one of the reasons we bought that house type. We’ve repurposed an an Ikea billy bookcase in the same cupboard for our shoes and I love how organised it is in there now!

In our utility room at the back of the house - we have tonnes of hooks - I don’t like much in display as you walk in x

I have a walk in wardrobe for my shoes and handbags and I have an over door hanger on the door to it where all my coats go. DH's go on an overdoor hanger on the door to his dressing room and the kids have huge wardrobes so all their coats go in there.

If you are my children- the floor or where ever they drop them.
My husband puts his on kitchen table, kitchen chair or back of the sofa.
I put mine on the coat hook in the down stairs loo or on the bannister. We have a lot of coats so every so often I hang a few up in spare room wardrobe!
