Disney is ending the Fireworks show at EPCOT - Illuminations
Illuminations, Disney's Firework and Laser show has been entertaining guests at Walt Disney World's EPCOT theme park for nearly 20 years and now will see it's last performance at the end of summer next year.
Don't worry though Disney is currently planning and creating a brand new spectacular show to replace Illuminations immediately after it finishes. Illuminations has entertained millions of guests gathered around World Showcase Lagoon sharing the light and a story since it debuted in October 1999 as part of the Walt Disney World Millennium Celebration. During the coming year, Disney will be celebrating this classic show, so you still have plenty of time to experience it.

I've been looking at this, can anyone figure out if it is going to be like Wishes/HEA transition or if there is going to be a period of time with no show at all?

Disney have said the new show will "debut immediately following the conclusion of IllumiNations"
I guess it will depend on their definition of 'immediately'

I imagine the new show will be fairly similar in format due to the immediate changeover. I just hope it's less IP-based than Happily Ever After, that's fine at Magic Kingdom but I'm less keen on seeing it at Epcot...

I hope the transition from old show to new show goes a lot smoother than the rivers of light fiasco lol
