Gulf coast
We may be doing a Florida road trip next year so am researching places to visit and stay for a couple of days.. I’m looking for somewhere to stay on the gulf coat, we have been to Naples and Clearwater before but would like to see somewhere else.
Any suggestions?

Pensacola beach at Margaritavile Hotel and or Destin at Henderson State Park Beach. (There are hotels behind it).

Cape Coral is a great place for a base as it’s not only a great place, but gives easy access to places like Fort Myers, Sanibel And Captiva Islands and Bokeelia.

Long boat key was beautiful... when we were there the turtles came on the beach to lay eggs.

My DW and I love Sanibel, great place if you are looking for somewhere quiet. No chains (except Starbucks and Dairy Queen!), but some really nice restaurants.

I would suggest the panhandle- San Destin is nice and Seaside is wonderful.

We stayed at Cape Coral last year and loved our trips over to Sannibel and Captiva such beautiful beaches.
