Amazon Echo

We don't have Amazon Prime and we don't subscribe to any music place such as Spotify etc, and we don't plan to.

So … is there anyway of getting Alexa to play our music we have on our PC etc? Without having to pay any subscription?

Thanks

There is a basic package specifically for echo which allows you to access amazon music via just 1 echo piece of kit. In our case we have a dot and for £3.99 per month it’s excellent.
We also access music via iTunes via a Bluetooth link. It’s not quite as user friendly but is good...
We now have no traditional stereo in the lounge and simply use Alexa either via iTunes or with amazon music...
It’s great for space saving and with a decent speaker it’s just as good if not better sound!

Thanks. Have had a look and seems straightforward enough . Have just purchased Echo on Amazon as reduced in price then my sister said I had to subscribe to Prime or Amazon music ... ugh! lol, last thing I want is to do that.
Thanks for link

Thanks but we have so much of our own music we really don't want to have to pay to listen to the same music online. I know it's cheap but all the little subscriptions soon add up! Friends have been going on about me getting the Echo for ages now it has come down in price, I have ordered one!
Thanks

Ours is linked with our prime membership but if you use tune in on your echo you can get loads of digital radio stations and pod casts too

I'm pretty sure it is, we used to use tune in before we subscribed to prime, have had prime for a long while so not sure if things have changed

I didnt have a prime or music subscription when we first got ours, I already had the Amazon music download app and had loads of songs that I have brought so Alexa would play those no problem. Recently though we did get the music subscription as it was in special trial offer 3 months for 99p

What’s the sound like on an Echo. I worry it’ll be a bit tinny?
