We did have a good wet winter here in the northwest, all our reservoirs where at near capacity, but united utilities are rubbish. In January I called them because it looked like the main stop cock in the street was leaking so I called them. To there credit they came out within a few hours. He came out looked at it and said there was no leak it must be a high water level where we live, ok we had months of rain. Come last month it was still pouring with water always a puddle of water. Called them again another person came out and said no leak but he had no idea where the water was coming from. He scheduled a crew to come out and dig to find the problem. The stop cock was leaking underneath and they changed it no puddle now. So it was leaking for over 4 months wasting water.

We got our email from South East water on Wednesday and I had been expecting either something from them, or a message on the news. We’ve had a couple of local woodland fires around here recently. Everything is soooo dry.
It’s not all bad though, we’re in the middle of knocking our old shed down and it’s meant we can leave some bits out in the garden instead of trying to cram the spider infested stuff in the garage

NW here as well. My 200l water butt is empty (only used watering can to water plants) and I've a new 100l that isn't going to get filled anytime soon.
