We saw Herman's Hermits when we were there last year. I was less than enthused to watch them but was dragged along by OH... I put my hands up, it was brilliant! I was surprised by how many of the songs I knew plus great audience participation too!

It is included in your park entrance. You may well get seats anyway depending on how many are in the main line. Once everyone is in the theatre, theCM's drop the ropes at the other entrances at the back of the theatre and let the people in who have been waiting at those entrances. After that, it's a case of standing on the path just outside of the back of the theatre. There are 3 shows each night and the first is usually the busiest in my experience.

So do they rope off the area then and make you queue? What do you mean by entrances at the back of the theatre? Sorry, just trying to figure it out before we go.

I'd also read that the first show was the quietest so was planning to catch that and then go for dinner, but not sure what to do now

There are about 6 ways into the theatre at the back they are seen as gaps in the pic. The main entrance is at the right of the pic in your post and the line goes down the path. All the gaps are roped off and manned prior to each show starting to keep people out of the theatre until the main queue of people have entered. The main line opens up to everyone in that queue about 20-30 minutes before the show starts, people enter the theatre and pick where they want to sit for the show. Some rows are roped off at the right for 'special guests' (band members families and guests) and at the left of the theatre - as shown in your pic there will be 2 or 3 rows forpeople who have paid for a 'premium' ticket which got them some food, drinks and guaranteed seating. The rest of the theatre seats are up for grabs.
You will notice that the Fl. locals will grab the front rows under cover and directly in front of the stage - they keep the seats for each other and so it's usually best to give in gracefully and aim for seats further back in the theatre rather than get caught in the stampede of the main line Once everyone in the main line has entered, the ropes at the gaps at the back of the theatre are dropped for the people who chose to stand there rather than join the main line. Hope that makes sense.

Katie

I always found it too hot to go to the first show as the sun is still pretty hot and there's no real shade apart fro a wee bit under the trees. Be careful not to sit directly behind a tree or your view of the stage wil be blocked.

You're very welcome. You can tell where we spend or weekends both in April/May and then quite a lot of evenings at the Food & Wine later in the year.
I just hope that the advice still holds as things change from time to time.

Katie

That's great, thank you. Will rethink our plans and maybe have dinner first and then head to the later show
