Dave - yes the rooms are very comfy, even for the 4 of us. The only thing I would like is to have a slightly bigger bathroom, but we manage OK.
Steph - lol, yes it does look like a fat fish doesn't it, and Sue seems to have the explanation for that if you read her post below yours. Hope you make it there one day. Trish - sorry about that, I felt just the same when I was posting them. Sue - thanks for that info, I never knew that. Now we know! Mishka - the kids take it in turns having the rollaway or sofabed at each hotel we stay at. I know exactly what you mean after sharing a bed with DD for the first time a few years ago, I got smacked in the face during the night! Since then we won't stay at a hotel unless they provide a rollaway or there's a sofabed in the room. This is why we love the Dolphin as we can fit a rollaway into the room no problem, and it's a lot cheaper than the official Disney Deluxe Hotels. The Dolphin and Swan are run by Sheraton and Westin, both part of the Starwood Group. They are not official Disney hotels, but are smack bang right next to the Boardwalk and Yacht & Beach Club Hotels and are walking distance to MGM and EPCOT, so it's a wonderful location to be in and we love the Friendship boats which go to those two parks. We have had rooms with a view of Spaceship Earth and Illuminations Fireworks in the past, so there's no doubt you're in WDW!

I did not know that! Maybe that's why it looks like a fat fish and not a dolphin!

Check out this link for the Dolphin Fish:
ocean.udel.edu/mas/seafood/mahi.html It looks a bit grim, but definitely a resemblance with the ones at the Dolphin Hotel.

Welcome home Mazzy Glad to hear you had a fabby hol.
Thanks for posting the great pics - you're sure getting me in the mood for my stay at the Dolphin next month. Was the pool water nice and warm? The weather was not the best when we last stayed at the Dolphin so never got to spend time at the pool. Hoping to make sure we test it very thoroughly this time though. |

Lovely pics and descriptions Mazzy. You mentioned escalators up to reception, I trust there are lifts as well? DH would be able to get a teachers discount staying there so worth considering for us.

Su - the water in the grotto pool can be a tad chilly when you first get in, if it's a cloudy day, but you soon get used to it. Not sure about the other two pools as we haven't been in them. You can rent inflatable rings and lilos from the kiosk where you get the towels from if you fancy floating around.
Caron - yes there are lifts as well, a bit further down the corridor so there won't be any problems with that. You can get fantastic rates with the teachers discount, so that would work out really well for you.
