Grand Floridian - Pre Ceremony Photos

I seem to know now that Scott's Limo was slightly delayed, and he blamed not being ready on the fact he didn't know Stan and Randy were coming to his room?! I thought it was the bride who was supposed to be late hehe.

Anyway, let's say just after 2.30 Scott, his mum and sister, then the boys and K's girlfriend Sarah rode in the first Limo to the GF for their photos. We had chosen the GF for the photos, and we got some great shots both inside and out.

Here is Scott with his Mum and sister

And then out on the pier with his Best Man K and Usher Scott

Once they were sropped off, this Limo came back for my bridesmaids, and we finally set off on my Limo which had been at SSR since 3pm, this late limo was no fault of DFTW though, and the 2 drivers kept in contact throughout so we knew when it was going to arrive, and we stood in the shade!

I got in the Limo with my Mum and Brian, Maid of Honour Lauren and Flower Girl Ruby, and the Bridesmaids all got in the other one and we were off ... this is it!

When we got to the GF, Richard the old man who works at thGF looking after brides was there to greeat us, and he soon took charge of my dress, this man was amazing! One of the best CMs of the entire day, I hope we can find him in April to say thank you, Along with our Planner Carol and her assistant for the day.

First on my list of things to do was to find my Dad, and Randy captured the first look, these are some of my favourite photos! Dd did not want to know anything about my dress or what I would be wearing so this was a very special moment.

Next up was time for some bridal party portraits on the staircase...where I had a bit of a birdezilla moment as some of the wedding guests were in teh GF lobby all watching and I didn't want them to have seen me and the girls until we walked into the WP hence the separate limos! Bridesmaids to the rescue, they were soon on their way This was my only bridezilla moment of the day though, and everyone has to have one right?!

With my Mum and Stepdad Brian

And then we went outside into the beautiful GF grounds and the sun.

The Amazing Richard with my girls

and with me

The thumbs up you have seen throughout my report continued today, Randy loved it!

This is my favourite photo of Ruby from the whole day, love how Randy has captured her with my dress detail

Richard had a few minutes off so the girls were able to hold my dress

Love this one of the girls, so happy!

The girls were then taken in the Limo to the WP and I just had time for some solo photos while we waited for my transport to arrive...

The Ceremony

Dad was waiting for me in the GF lobby (Alone as everyone else was at the WP now ... poor thing!) and then we headed out where our carriage was awaiting ... the Rolls Royce.

It was Dads request that we have this as I thought the price was ridiculous, but it was amazing! He told me on the journey to the WP he had always wanted to go in a Rolls Royce, so his dreams came true too!

When we arrived, he helped me out of the car, then tried to hand my my bouquet ... Dad I have a big dress to hold!

So he had to carry it as we walked up over the bridge, I lvoe this one of us together

Fabulous timing by Randy with the monorail

Another one of my faves (Haha I have a few!) is my girls watching on from behind the leaves

We headed into the Bride's vestibule for a (small for me!) drink of water, this was almost it! It was very strange to know that Scott was being kept in the Grooms room just next door, I couldn't wait to see him!

Ruby was very relieved that we were finally at "the real wedding" as poor thing I think got a bit sick of the photos at the GF. She was handed her basket of petals to throw (Just ivory so they didn't stain my dress) and we were all set.

Our Ceremony

We chose to follow US traditions and the entire bridal party walked down the aisle. ]

As the organist began to play Circle of Life, Scotts Mum was escorted by Scott's sister Caz

And then my Mum by her husband Brian (This is the first time they had walked down an aisle - another dream comes true!)

Then the organist played (It was amazing how she switched from song to song without a break, they were all merged into one) You've Got a Friend in Me for the Groomsmen's Entrance.

Rev Jack (Who shuffled so adorably down the aisle, and not very fast Scott tells me hehe), followed by Scott, K and Scott

And finally When You Wish Upon a Star for my bridesmaids

Ruby took to throwing the petals at people rather than as she walked down the aisle lol didn['t think to check she knew what she was doing!

Me and Dad were then called from the Bride's vestibule, and waited behind the famous doors, which were manned by Carol and her assistant. We could hear the end of when you Wish Upon a Star ... and then the organist chimed the hour ...

1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (This was Carol's idea but I loved it!)

Then we heard "When starrs are born, they possess a gift or two, One of those is, they have the power to make a Wish come true"

The doors were opened as "Star light, Star bright, first star I see tonight" started, and Dad and I began our walk. He held my hand as we went and I am so glad he did as with one hand holding a bouquet and one hand in his I almost tripped up the stairs as I coudln't lift my dress!

I looked only at Scott the entire time, but as soon as he saw me he had tears in his eyes, and wouldn't look into my eyes again! Poor thing, I had secretly requested the Wishes soundtrack instead of the traditional bridal march he was expecting so I do take the blame

The Rev Jack opened our ceremony:

We are gathered here today to share one of the happiest moments in the lives of Scott and Emma, as they are about to become husband and wife. They particularly wanted to invite you here because the growth of their love is connected to this place. It has given them a feeling of timelessness and peace, and a sense of the wonder of life.

May I ask who adds their blessing to this beautiful wedding by presenting Emma to be married to Scott?

My Dad answered "I Do" and gave my hand to an emotional Scott

Rev Jack continued:
It is with love and joy that your families and friends are with you on this happy occasion, as a new family is begun. From this day forward, Scott and Emma, you will stand together, hand in hand.

Scott and Emma have asked me to publicly express their love and appreciation to you, their parents, for all of the love and guidance you have given them. Through you, they have learned the meaning of the words "respect", "love" and "honour". These "gifts" that you have bestowed upon them, they will now come to share and exchange with each other. It is a tribute to you that they now stand before us. For your support that has brought them this far in their lives, they say "thank you".

(We hadn't told our parents about this either so another surprise)

And then Lauren and Rhianne read the Wishes lyrics for us as a reading, cue more tears!

We all looked on and Ruby held Lauren's bouquet

Rev Jack continued:

The mood of this wedding is one of festivity and well being. You are here to celebrate your wonderful good fortune and the inevitability of it all, how wonderful it is that you two found each other and how delightful it feels to love one another as much as you two do.

Love is a miraculous gift, and a wedding a celebration of that magic, and that is what we are here to do today. We are gathered together, family and friends, to be overjoyed for Scott and Emma who are so wonderfully suited to one another, that it is a pure delight for the rest of us to see just how happy two people can be.

I then passed my bouquet to Lauren and Rev Jack told us to face each other and "Hold on tight!" this was my favourite quote of his from the day, and one he add libbed to the script I wrote him haha.

Ceremony Part 2

So we are here in the WP holding on tight, and Scott finally is looking into my eyes!

Rev Jack continued with the Declaration of Intent:
Do you, Scott, knowing of this woman’s love for you and returning it, realizing her strengths and learning from them, recognizing her weaknesses and accepting them, take Emma, to be your lawfully wedded wife?

Scott: I do

Do you, Emma, knowing of this man’s love for you and returning it, realizing his strengths and learning from them, recognizing his weaknesses and accepting them, take Scott, to be your lawfully wedded husband?

Me: I do

Family and friends watching on

Time for the vows:
You are now taking into your care, and keeping the happiness of the one person in all the world whom you love best. You are adding to your life not only the affection of each other, but also the companionship and blessing of a deep trust as well. You are agreeing to share strength, responsibilities, and love.

Scott and Emma, I ask you now to face each other and join hands.

Scott, please repeat after me:

"All that I am and all that I have, / All that I've been and all that I shall be, / I share with you from this day forward. / I promise to love you / and stand beside you, / in the only way I know how, / completely and for eternity."

Emma, please repeat after me:

"All that I am and all that I have, / All that I've been and all that I shall be, / I share with you from this day forward. / I promise to love you / and stand beside you, / in the only way I know how, / completely and for eternity

I adored these vows the first time I saw them, they were perfect for us

Exchange of Rings:

May I have the rings, please?

(Best Man (K) provided wedding rings!)

The wedding ring is an unbroken circle, which symbolises unending and everlasting love, and is a visible symbol which represents your inner commitment to one another. May your lives together, Scott and Emma, be blessed with everlasting happiness.

Scott, will you place this ring on Emma's finger, and repeat after me:

Emma, with this ring I give you my heart, / I give you my promise, / to share every smile, every tear and every dream I have with you. / With this ring, I thee wed.

Emma, will you place this ring on Scott's finger, and repeat after me:

Scott, with this ring I give you my heart, / I give you my promise, / to share every smile, every tear and every dream I have with you. / With this ring, I thee wed.

We had a bit of trouble getting the rings on, I forgot the Vaseline trick!

Next up was teh Sand Ceremony, and we had written it so that the Mum's could join in too:

Marriage is the union of husband and wife in heart, body and mind. It is intended for their mutual joy and for the help and comfort given to one another in prosperity and adversity.

In as much as Scott and Emma have consented together in marriage before this company of friends and family, we have gathered here today to witness the commitment that Scott and Emma have made to join their lives together forever.

This sand ceremony represents a beautiful joining of two families and leaves the new united family with a visual reminder of the commitment that has been made.

From these two families a new family will be created today. At this time, I ask the mothers of Scott and Emma to come forward.

Mum's join us at the altar.

These two vases of white sand held by each mother represent each family. The white sand symbolizes that the marriage is grounded.

Before you met, Scott and Emma, your lives were on separate roads, each going in different directions and seemingly leading to different destinations. But somewhere along the way you met, fell in love, and today you find yourselves standing together at the entrance of a new path that will forever join your once separate journeys into one.

As we layer the individual colours, this symbolizes that the marriage is based on the strength of the individuals.

Scott and Emma, as your sands come together into one, may it always be a reminder of the day that the two of you became one; hand in hand, heart to heart, flesh to flesh and soul to soul.

Although you will be sharing one life, never forget you are two separate people. Cherish and affirm your differences. Love each other. Keep your commitment primary. Together you will laugh and cry, be sick and well, be happy and angry, share and grow. Grow sometimes together, sometimes separately.

So, Scott and Emma, remember this day and the ceremony that has joined your families.
Always keep in your minds the love that brought you together and that will keep your marriage and your families strong.

Just as the grains of sand can never be separated, may the two of you be intertwined together in love for the rest of your lives.

(You can see from this photo that Disney set this up incorrectly, and the sand we were puring should have been below that line not ontop of it which is in fact for a photo. But this is the first time they had seen this frame so possibly my fault for not telling them, although the instructions were in the box! I knew from the moment we started it was wrong but didn't want to make a fuss as we were being videoed hehe)

As we poured our sand, Always was playign from Lilo and Stitch 2 ... I will love you always!

Next up was a poem read amazingly by Ruby. She spoke much clearer than we did bless her, fab!

Disney has taught us all that fairytales can come true. As Scott and Emma begin their happily ever after, their Flower Girl and niece Ruby would like to read you a poem.

What’s Mickey without Minnie,
What’s Piglet without Pooh,
What’s Donald without Daisy,
That’s me without you.

When Ariel doesn’t sing,
And Pooh Bear hates honey,
When Tigger stops bouncing,
And Goofy isn’t funny.

When Peter Pan can’t fly,
And Simba never roars,
When Alice in Wonderland
Can’t fit through small doors.

When Dumbo’s ears are small,
And Happily Ever after isn’t true,
That’s when I’ll stop loving you.

CLOSING OF THE CEREMONY

Scott and Emma, you have pledged your lives and souls to one another in our presence, so may I offer you this poem:

Today I marry my friend,
The one I laugh and cry with,
The one I have learned from and shared with,
The one I have chosen to support,
Encourage and give myself to,
Through all the days given us to share.
Today I marry the one I love.

By virtue of the authority vested in me, and in conformity with the laws of the state of Florida, I pronounce you husband and wife.

Scott sir, you may now kiss your beautiful wife.

To end the celebration of their marriage, Scott and Emma would like to share a message of thanks with you, from their pal Jiminy Cricket:

Play Wishes exit music CD:
[JIMINY]
Thanks folks, for making this little gathering of ours so extra magical.
From our family and friends to yours, goodnight, and may all your wishes come true.
So long!

Family and friends, it is with great pleasure I present to you, for the first time as husband and wife, Mr and Mrs Vaughan.
