You would think so ..usually, fraudsters move the money quickly so it can't be retrieved. They are so clever. I don't understand how they have managed to move this amount in one go without raising any suspicion. Where have they managed to get all the passwords etc from. These scams are just so sophisticated.

Can only imagine how your poor mum feels, I would report this to the police and keep on at the bank, they cannot just shrug and say nothing to do with them, your mums money should have been safe and they need to do something about these scam artists that are able to call and give all your mums details to her that would suggest a weak spot in their account security system and if they got your mum's details then they will surely have been able to get other's so it may not just be your mum that has been scammed.
I really hope you get sorted and your mum gets her money returned x

I have been with NatWest for nearly 47 years and always find them excellent no matter what the issues I have had.

I've been with them for 30 years and likewise. I originally opened an account there because I started working for them and it was a condition of employment that I had to have a current account with them for my salary to go into which was fair enough. I didn't work in the actual banking side though; I worked in the property side.
